What it is

A sealed cube with a chip inside it.

Tap the cube to the back of your phone and it hatches a character in a free game. No portal, no base, nothing else to buy.

You tap it to your phone and the character is built on the spot.

Every character is rated one to five stars, rolled at random, and more stars means stronger stats. Your first hatch from a fig is guaranteed at least three, so you cannot open a dud.

Each physical ÆRTHLINGS FIG contains an NFC chip. When scanned with a compatible iOS or Android device, your collectible toy springs to life in the game. Women Love Tech

Now the part nobody expects. You can trade the cube away and keep the character in game.

Trade the fig with a friend. You both hatch new characters. And you keep your originals. Nobody loses anything in a trade.

The lineage

And you keep earning from it after you hand it over.

Every future scan of that cube sends rewards back to the character you kept. It is called a lineage, and once you are on one you stay on it.
